Data Deletion Request

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 17 — commonly known as the right to erasure or right to be forgotten — you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data held by Social Intel. Similar rights are also available under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable privacy laws.

We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving a verified request, and we will notify you once the deletion is complete.

When you request data deletion, the following information is permanently removed:

• Account credentials — email address, password hash, and API keys
• Profile information — name, billing address, and any stored preferences
• Usage history — session logs and activity records
• Support tickets and correspondence associated with your account

What is retained:

• Anonymised transaction records — required for accounting and tax compliance (retained for 7 years)
• Anonymised download logs — used for delivery confirmation and fraud prevention (retained for 12 months)
• Any data required by applicable law or regulatory obligation

Retained data is fully anonymised — all direct identifiers (email, name, user ID) are irreversibly removed.

You may request data deletion if you are:

• A registered Social Intel user requesting deletion of your own account and associated data
• A former user whose data is still retained under our data retention policy
• An individual whose personal data appears in one of our datasets and you wish to have it removed (see our Privacy Policy for details on dataset content)
• An authorised representative acting on behalf of any of the above

Option 1 — Settings (recommended for active users):
Log in to your account, navigate to Settings, and click Delete Account. You will be prompted to confirm your decision. This initiates an immediate deletion process.

Option 2 — Email request:
Send an email from the address associated with your account to privacy@socialintel.io with the subject line Data Deletion Request. Include your full name and account email address so we can verify your identity.

Option 3 — Third-party data removal:
If you believe your personal data appears in one of our datasets and you are not a registered user, email privacy@socialintel.io with details about the content and its location. We will review and respond within 30 days.

To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorised deletion, we must verify your identity before processing any deletion request. The verification method depends on how you submit your request:

• Via Settings: You must be logged in and confirm your password. This serves as automatic identity verification.
• Via Email: We will reply to confirm your request. In some cases we may ask for additional verification (e.g. a copy of a government ID or proof of address) before proceeding.
• Third-party requests: We require sufficient evidence that the data in question relates to you before taking action.

• Your account is permanently deactivated and cannot be restored
• You lose access to all purchased datasets, API keys, and subscription benefits
• Any active subscriptions are cancelled immediately
• We send a confirmation email once the deletion is complete
• Anonymised transaction records are retained for accounting purposes as described above

If you change your mind after submitting a deletion request but before it is processed, contact us immediately at privacy@socialintel.io. Once deletion is complete, your data cannot be recovered.

Deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. Before submitting a request, please be aware that:

• Downloaded datasets cannot be re-downloaded after deletion — download them first
• Custom dataset requests that have not been delivered will be cancelled
• Any remaining subscription balance or credits are forfeited
• You will need to create a new account to use Social Intel in the future

We process deletion requests according to the following timeline:

• Self-service (via Settings): Immediate — account is deleted upon confirmation
• Email requests: Up to 30 days from verification
• Third-party / dataset content removal: Up to 30 days from verification
• Anonymised data purge: Retained data (transaction records, download logs) is automatically purged per the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy

If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority. For users in the European Union, this is the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
